Complaints, disputes and redress schemes
Start by raising a complaint with your landlord or letting agent in writing. If that doesn't work, the official guidance explains where else you can go.
- Letting agents must belong to a redress scheme.
- A new PRS Landlord Ombudsman is planned. The government expects landlord membership to become mandatory in 2028 — it is not yet compulsory.
